Bump, Set, and Spike: Redbird Arena Here We Come!
4th grader Ransom is certainly excited about the high school volleyball girls' victory over Steeleville in the Super-sectional. It was worth the 2 hour plus drive to watch these girls play. They are certainly impressive. Their next stop is the State finals in Redbird Arena at Illinois State University in Normal. We are SO proud of the girls and their faithful student cheering section. The girls will play at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, November 10. School has been cancelled for Friday to allow students and staff to attend the game. GO BLUE!!
Donate to Chromebooks in the Classroom
We are working toward funding for additional Chromebooks that we can actually keep in the classroom! We received $450.00 from the Penny Power grant. THANK YOU ADAMS ELECTRIC! I have $650.00 from the PTO that will be put toward the purchase. The combination will purchase 5 Chromebooks. While it's a long way from our goal of 50 Chromebooks (a class set for both 4th grades), it is a start that we are very excited about! Mrs. Bangert and I are looking for additional grants. If any parent or community member would like to add to our fund, we would be thrilled! Each Chromebook costs approximately $200.00. This does not include wireless mice or headsets for the children. Parents and community members wishing to donate to the cause should contact the office, Mrs. Bangert or myself.
Halloween Fun is All Wrapped Up
The room was full of crazy goblins Tuesday as the Halloween fun went full throttle. A huge thank you to the parents that helped make the afternoon a "spook-tacular" success. The students especially enjoyed the mummy challenge.
Science Is Bubbling Up All Around
We had a lot of fun experimenting with the bubbles in class. The largest bubble goes to Caitlyn! Look at the way her bubble clings to the desktop. Great job, Caitlyn!
